It depends on where you go: every destination has its own best season. Each month page lists the 12 most popular places that are at their best that month. For Europe, the shoulder months of May, June and September give good weather with fewer crowds.

Where is warm in winter?

July and August are the best time for London, Swiss Alps, Scottish Highlands, Norway fjords, Iceland and Kenya safari. Southern Europe is hot and busy then; northern Europe, Canada and the mountains are at their best.

Usually January to early March (outside school holidays) and the shoulder months just before and after peak season. Prices rise around Christmas, New Year, Easter and in July and August.
